In 2013, Jin Li tested the ThinkPad W530. This year we decided to put the W540 to the test. Here are the results. We have used Prime95 and MSI Kombustor to put the highest load possible. This should tell us how hot the W540 can get in worst case scenario.

Specifications

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4710MQ

  • Graphics Card: Nvidia Quadro K2100M

Test

  1. Idle: 5min

  2. Prime95 (Small FFT): 10min

  3. Prime95 (Small FFT) + MSI Kombustor (GPU Core Burner: Furry MSI): 10min

  4. MSI Kombustor (GPU Core Burner: Furry MSI): 10min
